DEFINITIONS

• ACT Flinders University of South Australia Act 1966.
• COURSE a degree or other academic award at Flinders.
• CREDIT TRANSFER is the granting of status or credit by the university to students for modules or topics completed at another institution or training organisation or towards the requirements of another course at Flinders.
• EXECUTIVE DEAN each Faculty has an Executive Dean, responsible for providing academic leadership and management.
• FACULTY the basic administrative structure for academic and support staff responsible for teaching and research. Each Faculty may offer more than one course and can contain various academic organisation units.
• MAJOR a structured cluster of topics leading to a specialisation within a course (also known as a "program")
• PROGRAM a structured cluster of topics leading to a specialisation within a course (also known as a "major"); a course; or an articulated cluster of courses.
• TOPIC one of the subjects that comprise a course.
