Sir Eric Neal served as Governor of the State of South Australia from July 1996 to November 2001 He previously had a successful career in industry, culminating in 14 years as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Boral Ltd and as a Director of its subsidiaries in Australia, the UK, the USA and the Pacific Islands. Sir Eric has served on many corporate boards, as well as on government advisory bodies on defence, prices and incomes, water resources and the sugar industry. His directorships have included BHP, AMP, and Westpac (of which he was also Chairman).

Professional Experience and Appointments

Professor Gary Davis, originally from Canada, is Professor of Law at Flinders University. He joined the University as Associate Professor in 1996. He was appointed as Dean of the Law School as of 1 July 2001, and was re-appointed for a second term. Prior to joining Flinders University, Professor Davis was a Foundation appointment to the academic staff of Murdoch University Law School in Perth (1990-1996), and a member of the law academic staff of the University of New South Wales in Sydney (1981-1990). He has been a member of the Council of Australian Lawn Deans; the Legal Practitioners Education and Admission Council of South Australia; and the Council of the Law Society of South Australia. His other experience with organisational governing bodies includes membership of the Management Committee of the Flinders University Child Care Centre from 1996-2000, serving as Chair for the period 1997-1999; membership of the Committee of Management of the Murdoch University Child Care Association (1995-1996); and membership of the Board of Management of the Marion Community Legal Service (1997-2003). He is currently the Director of a national project on legal education funded by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC).

Mrs Roberts recently retired, in May 2007,  as the President of the Cancer Council of Australia.  She has worked actively in the community for more than 40 years. Her work on cancer in women helped establish the national breast cancer screening service and the cervical cancer screening program.
