Maintenance
Maintenance is responsible for:
|
|
maintenance and repair of site services, utilities and
buildings, including electrical, gas, water, sewer and
stormwater, roads and carparks, plant and machinery (lifts,
boilers, air-conditioners etc), physical security, general
building fabric and fittings |
|
|
maintenance and care of all horticultural plantings,
lawns, sports fields and pathways, and litter and graffiti
removal |
|
|
minor new work requested and paid for by University
sections |
|
|
the University's Register of
Asbestos and coordination of Asbestos Removal. |
FAULT REPORTING
All maintenance problems, faults or requests must be registered through the web based 'BIEMS' system. A nominated staff member in each building has access to 'BIEMS' for reporting problems, faults and requests. Contact your School/Administration office to report faults.
When reporting problems provide the exact location (including
building and room numbers), a brief description and a contact
name and number. Most reports are dealt with within 48 hours,
with matters of safety and security given priority.
The Maintenance office is located on the corner of Ring Road and Physical
Sciences Road and is open from 7am to 5pm.
If an urgent problem arises out of hours, contact Security
on 8201 2880.

STAFF
The section employs trade and support staff, including groundskeepers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, fitters, painters and masonry tradespeople, and engages a range of contractors and suppliers as required.
