
The South Australian Centre for Innovation provides specialist services and acts as a catalyst for high growth South Australian companies. It aims to innovate through:
The Centre receives funding from the state Department of Trade and Economic Development (DTED), and has links to leading industry, research and government organisations. It encourages and supports small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) to increase efficiency and competitiveness through innovation.
The Centre includes nodes in the north (Mawson Lakes) and south of Adelaide as well as regional service delivery.
The Southern Office is situated in the university's Mark Oliphant Building in Laffer Drive, Bedford Park, South Australia.
Innovation services accessed through the Centre include:

• commercialisation.
Long-term growth of SMEs through innovation is facilitated by a partnership between Flinders and other universities, research institutes, industry, councils, service providers and other government agencies.
These are the specific aims of the Centre.
• Promote innovation through the uptake of new technologies, management systems, skills and building export capabilities in manufacturing and traded services.
• Provide commercialisation support for new and emerging industries.
• Assist in developing new products and services for existing or prospective markets.
• Support cultural change through education and mentoring.
• Facilitate import replacement and maximise Australian industry involvement in major projects.
A series of workshops, seminars and industry/business development programs are conducted throughout the year, together with industry awards for innovation.
