Undergraduate: Course rule and topic information
Bachelor of Environmental Health
(BEnvHlth)
Program of study
INTRODUCTION
The Bachelor of Environmental Health requires three years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time).
The course is offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences.
COURSE AIMS
The course was created originally to educate Environmental Health Officers (EHOs) to work in industry and government, particularly local government, in areas such as environmental health, environmental protection and occupational health and safety. Today, graduates are employed in all fields of public health, environmental health and environmental protection.
It is structured to provide the requisite diversity of knowledge considered essential for the practising professional.
Expertise covers the physical and biological sciences, an understanding of communities, and relevant aspects of the law and administration. The course incorporates all these components while also placing a strong emphasis on communication and educational skills, the principles of human behaviour, and the ability to resolve problems.
COURSE RULE
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requirements for consideration for entry to all undergraduate courses are specified in detail in the University Entry Requirements.
