Program of study
INTRODUCTION
The Bachelor of Communication and Information Technology requires two years of full-time study. The course is offered by the Faculty of Science and Engineering on a fee-paying basis.
This course is only available to graduates of the two-year Diploma in Communication and Information Technology which is offered off-shore.
This course articulates with the Diploma in Communication and Information Technology, and the sequentially developed topics allow progression through the two awards.
COURSE AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
The course focuses significantly on developing knowledge and skills in relevant areas of information technology such as internet programming (Java), database and web-based applications, software engineering and IT projects. The course also continues the development of relevant English language skills and provides for development of skills and knowledge in a communication technology such as multimedia, TV and education.
Learning outcomes Upon completion of the degree, graduates will be able to:
- use professional skills and knowledge in relevant areas of information technology (IT) to contribute to the successful design, implementation, management and maintenance of an enterprise's IT infrastructure;
- use English effectively for personal and professional communication using a wide range of communication technologies;
- work professionally in a team;
- successfully engage in the process of continuing learning needed to retain the necessary level of professional skills and knowledge in such a rapidly changing area as information technology; and
- contribute successfully to enterprise management and project management.
COURSE RULE
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Satisfactory completion of all topics in the University's Diploma in Communication and Information Technology program. (It will be the responsibility of the individual students to obtain the relevant Australian visa.)

To qualify for the Bachelor of Communication and Information Technology students must complete 72 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic, according to the program of study for one of the two sequences below:
