Some Specialist Pathways

Below are some examples of career pathways for the business specializations. This list is not exhaustive. Note that some positions may require further study and/or experience. You will have the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge and skills across a range of professional business-orientated fields:

Business Economics: Organisations of all sizes - from small businesses to large-scale corporations - either employ or consult business economists, as do service providing institutions such as banks and charitable bodies. Business economics studies will help you develop as an effective manager in a rapidly changing and increasingly competitive world.

Entrepreneurship: Focuses on developing the skills and knowledge necessary to become a successful entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs identify and develop new business opportunities. Studies in Entrepreneurship are also relevant to students who aspire to build a career in senior management in major corporations.

Human Resource Management: Teaches you all aspects of attracting and retaining people within an organisation, and managing and motivating them to contribute effectively to that organisation’s aims and objectives.

International Business: Builds upon the business disciplines of marketing, finance, economics, human resource management and global sustainability to provide you with advanced skills and knowledge specific to conducting international trade in both small,  medium and large, multinational organisations.

Management: Designed to prepare you for a career as a business professional and enable you to combine studies across all sectors of business practice, including leadership, planning and decision-making, e-business, and human resource management.

Marketing: Provides the skills and knowledge necessary to build a successful career in marketing across specialised areas such as marketing research, promotion and advertising, and strategic marketing management.
