The overall purpose of the position is to provide science and technology advice to Defence in the fields of systems sciences including problem structuring, concept generation and development, dynamic modelling of architectures and systems engineering. The focus is on the Australian Defence Force as a joint and networked force, in the context of Network-Centric Warfare and future technologies. A PhD, Masters, Honours or a degree in an appropriate discipline, or possession of equivalent relevant qualifications and research experience, with a significant emphasis on systems thinking, systems engineering, socio-technical design, computer science, software engineering, mathematics, cognitive science, or physics.

Role responsibilities:
• Taking data derived from questionnaires and processing, analysing and reporting the results using a range of software packages and well defined processes;
• Editing and cleaning raw data for analysis;
• Analysing data using appropriate guidelines and techniques;
• Checking all results to ensure final tabulations and databases are accurate and error free;
• Monitoring outputs, deadlines, data quality and other project issues;
• Working with other departments to ensure thorough understanding of project brief and questionnaire design.
