As a Field Engineer, you will be onsite wherever our clients need you – whenever they need you. We operate 24/7 in the heat of the desert, in the isolation of the ocean, in the extreme cold of the arctic and virtually everywhere between. Here you’ll make decisions that have a multimillion dollar impact. You’ll get your hands dirty and you’ll push your stamina as well as your knowledge to the very limit.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will gain extensive experience in the field before working to enhance our service quality and equipment reliability by focusing on workflow improvements and optimising maintenance processes using Lean Six Sigma practices and RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance) Methodology. You will also serve as a key link between the field maintenance organisation and the Engineering & Manufacturing centres to help improve equipment design reliability and maintainability.
To be successful in these positions you will need to be adaptable, hardworking and independent. You will be degree qualified in Engineering with 0 - 3 years experience.

Department of Defence, Professional Officer Class 1 - Civilian Engineer Development Program
Navy Strategic Command operates one of the most comprehensive Civilian Engineer Development Program’s in Australia. The program includes a range of features that provide broad professional development and recognition as well as the opportunity to grow and develop a professional career as an Australian Public Service employee within the Department of Defence. Based on competencies recognised by Engineers Australia (EA), this program consists of Defence and industry work rotations and provides optimum exposure to a variety of engineering opportunities through both on and off-the-job training.
Our program is suitable for engineering graduate completing Communications, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical and Naval Architecture degrees.
We are responsible for determining class material policies, material requirements, certification regimes and standards in support of the acquisition of surface ships, submarines, aircraft, support craft and related facilities for the Royal Australian Navy.
