Department of Health (Central Adelaide Local Health Network - Chemical Pathology - SA Pathology FMC), Medical Scientist

Duties: The Medical Scientist will process routine biological specimens, prepare reagents, maintain equipment and assess quality control data in a specialised chemical pathology laboratory. The incumbent will be responsible for performing both routine and more complex tests and will participate in the Directorate trainee scientist program. Participation in an after-hours service, general laboratory services, the quality management of the laboratory and continuing staff education will be expected.

Essential Minimum Qualifications: B.Sc., B.App.Sc (Medical Laboratory Science), B Health Sc or equivalent.

Our Pharmacy Division has grown rapidly and to facilitate this growth, two opportunities have become available for Pharmacists/Science Graduates to join our Kurralta Park facility. This is an exciting opportunity to explore the path that is right for you and work with talented and driven people with a diverse skill set and background.  You will be part of a team responsible for safe, effective and efficient preparation of pharmaceutical products. Key areas of responsibilities include preparation of chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition and other aseptically prepared products. This interesting & varied role involves supervising production, coordinating workflow and checking and releasing product orders.  You will have a tertiary qualification in either, Pharmacy, Science or BioMedical Sciences. Previous experience in aseptic compounding &/or manufacturing to the code of GMP would be highly regarded however not essential.
