Our Client has 20 years history in specialist Ophthalmic with clinics all across Australia. An opportunity has become available for a science graduate to be trained in the use of ophthalmic testing and diagnostic devices with pre-op, surgical and post-op patients. This is a very limited, much sought after opportunity for those candidates that can combine compassion, organisation and scientific knowledge.
Daily duties will be wide and varied including:
- Clinical Duties (Performing refractions, A-Scans, Corneal Topography, Tonography, visual field testing...etc)
- Patient Assessment
- Surgical Theatre Support
- Patient Counselling and Advice
- Administrative duties
- Attending to emergencies
The successful candidate will possess a natural caring and empathetic demeanour, the ability to develop relationships, be technically sound and accurate, display efficiency and be a reliable team player. CQ Eye, Clinical Optometrist/Orthoptist
CQ Eye, a busy Ophthalmology clinic in sunny Central Queensland is seeking a full time Optometrist or Orthoptist to join our team.
Applicants will be required to work alongside five other clinical staff, as well as a number of administrative staff and must therefore be able to work as part of a team and have a friendly and positive disposition.
Clinical duties are many and varied, with some administrative tasks required. Clinical duties include, but are not limited to:
Initial and follow up assessment of general ophthalmic conditions e.g. cataract, glaucoma, diabetes requiring visual acuity, applanation tonometry, fundus examination and other testing as indicated
- Orthoptic assessment of strabismus patients
- Monitoring treatment of amblyopic patients
- Fundus fluorescein angiography
- Disc photography and anterior segment photography
- OCT, Pentacam, IOLMaster and immersion A-scan
- Assisting in minor procedures
Please note: Visual Field testing IS NOT a required task
Applicants must live in the Rockhampton region or be prepared to relocate. They must have good communication skills both written and verbal and also be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Graduates are encouraged to apply.
