Applications are invited for a Laboratory Technician at the AWRI within the Trace Analysis Laboratory as part of the Commercial Services group. The position is a 12 month maternity leave contract. We will require the new incumbent to be able to work well within a busy team environment and be able to commence as soon as possible.
The role encompasses, preparation of samples and routine chemical analysis of wine and grape products using GC/MS and HPLC and LC/MS/MS. The laboratory performs a large range of analyses using various chromatographic techniques and analytical capability. The Commercial Services group is NATA ISO17025 accredited in the field of chemical testing and the laboratory is GLP recognised. Knowledge in these areas is preferred but not essential.
The successful applicant should have a laboratory background; the role will be suitable for a graduate or laboratory technician with one to two year’s laboratory experience.

DPI’s Science Graduate Program is a two year learning and development program open to recent graduates of science (variety of disciplines), agriculture, forestry, horticulture, economics, emergency management and other related professions.
