  • Develop Leadership Skills

    Leadership & Management Programs

The Leadership Program is open to all currently enrolled Flinders students and is FREE to attend.

These advanced programs give you the opportunity to explore personal characteristics, develop relevant workplace skills, build skills in analysis, enhance oral communication, develop leadership skills and work with others from outside your discipline areas. Training will be provided by professionals in their fields and it will be a great addition to your CV.

Some of these programs are open to all students whilst others are targeted at specific discipline areas.
Programs available to all students include the: Leadership Challenge, Executive Leadership Program and Women in Leadership.

Discipline related programs include: Commerce Leadership Program, Women in Science and Engineering, Science and Engineering Leadership and Women in Law. These will be run throughout the year at no cost for students and will be open to 2nd, 3rd year and final year students.

    CUSP Corporate University Skills Program

This initiative provides student training in key transferable skills to develop 'graduate readiness' as a preparation for their careers and lives in the community.

For example, final year Engineering students developed teamwork skills through two three hour workshops. The workshops were based on experiential activities and professional development as used in assessment and training by industry.

Students undertake a variety of skill development activities as used in the corporate training environment. For example, you will be given a range of challenges designed to develop communication, problem solving and other key skills for management and leadership.

The program will be a partnership between employers, academic staff from the appropriate academic units and the Careers and Employer Liaison Centre. Facilitators for the program will come from the Centre, academic staff and employers .

Further programs are being developed with key industry partners.
