A Bachelor Cultural Tourism, has held a diversity of positions in the tourism sector:
" In early 2001 I became Regional Coordinator for Encounter 2002 event. This meant working with 23 regional communities and indigenous communities to develop and promote an exciting range of events, exhibitions and projects, typically highlighting local attractions, achievements and produce, as well as the State’s spectacular coastline and often unique coastal biodiversity.
While in this role I wrote the Encounter 2002 tourism award submission which went on to win the Significant Regional Festivals and Events category at National level.
Mid 2002 I moved from Australian Major Events to South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC), infrastructure unit to oversee the Major and Minor infrastructure grant programs. This was a deliberate move from events to tourism.
Early 2003 I applied for my current role as Nature-Ecotourism Advisor, Tourism Development Group SATC. This involves working across the state at all levels of Government, environmental tourism operators, development boards etc to lift the profile of Nature tourism" |
