    We are now recruiting for a Graduate Electronics Engineer to work within the Joint Systems department supporting the Through Life Support team in Moorebank and Garden Island. You will perform repair, overhaul and testing of electronic equipment aboard vessels and within the workshop environments. You will also be responsible for the investigations, reporting, obsolescence monitoring, technical data development and review for Mission Systems.

    We are looking for someone with a qualification in engineering, computer science or related discipline with experience within an electronics environment.     Graduate Careers Australia's (GCA) annual Australian Graduate Survey ( AGS ) is a study of the activities of new higher education graduates around four months after the completion of their qualifications. New graduates are surveyed regarding their major activities, including full-time study, full or part-time employment, seeking employment or their unavailability for work or study.

    Development Engineer (2), Wind Prospect Pty Ltd

    Wind Prospect is a leading independent wind energy developer, constructor and operator, working in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, China and New Zealand.

    Opportunities have become available within both the Newcastle and Adelaide development teams. The role will be to provide support in all areas to the Development Managers with a particular focus on the technical aspects of developing wind farm sites throughout New South Wales. Applicants will be expected to participate in field work and be prepared for short-term field stays.

    The role includes:

    • Assisting in the ongoing feasibility assessment of potential wind farm sites;
    • Perform wind flow and energy modelling of potential wind farm sites using industry standard software;
    • Assess key constraints and optimisation criteria to design layouts for potential wind farm sites;
    • Plan, procure and install wind measurement and other equipment at potential wind farm sites;
    • Working in a team on EIA preparation: including collating and analysing information;
    • Communication with key stakeholders and consenting authorities (councils, telecommunications, state government, etc);
    • Assist in the preparation of all statutory and non-statutory reports.
    Applicants should be recent engineering graduates (energy, electrical, mechanical or civil preferred), should have a high level of interest in renewable energy and be keen to work in a motivated and flexible team environment. It is desirable for applicants to be familiar with technical modelling and data processing software; in particular familiarity with wind data analysis and energy yield calculations. A valid driving licence is also required. There will also be requirements to work independently on specific projects, have good communication, written and analytical skills and an ability to learn quickly. Computer literacy is essential and strong competence with the Microsoft Office suite of software is expected. Experience with GIS software (MapInfo in particular) is preferred.
