    Technical Officer - Biomedical Engineering, Royal Adelaide Hospital - Biomedical Engineering Department

    Duties: You will be working as a member of a team and applying experience in biomedical engineering and standard methodologies and procedures, be accountable for the repairs, maintenance, calibration, installation, commissioning, acceptance and in service inspections of a comprehensive range of biomedical equipment of some complexity, and ensuring compliance with all relevant Australian and International standards.     This role rotates through all aspects of malt production, dry grain handling, and product and raw material assessment and analysis. It requires the participation in physical tasks, a focus on plant hygiene, diligent paperwork skills, accurate laboratory techniques, and commitment to OH&S, HACCP, Quality Systems, Environmental Issues and Customer Awareness.

    Reporting to the Production Manager, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

    • Controlling process conditions to produce quality malt and maintain levels of stocks required for production and hygiene;
    • Ensure breakdowns or perceived problems are reported promptly;
    • Ensuring samples are collected in a timely and efficient manner;

    To be successful you will be very organised, have well developed communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.   You must be prepared to work an 11-day fortnight as part of a roster as well as share the on-call role with other Production Technicians.   A Diploma or Degree in Science, Food Technology or Engineering is essential, and a senior first aid certificate and forklift licence would be advantageous.
