Career prospects are increasing and expanding in scope as Australia catches up with the international growth in GIS applications, particularly in the US, the UK and many other parts of Europe.
Some areas include: Biodiversity management, urban and regional planning, transportation and infrastructure management, and environmental science are just some of the fields that now require specialised expertise related to the capture, synthesis, analysis and communication of spatially-referenced information.
