of Arts The study of History provides training in highly versatile job-related skills such as research, organisation, oral and written communication and cultural awareness. It fosters critical and analytical abilities essential for problem-solving and decision-making. Employers increasingly are seeking graduates with critical abilities which complement the more specialised vocational training in Law, Commerce or Medicine.
History graduates follow diverse career paths in public service and private enterprise. They enter administration, politics, teaching, health and welfare delivery, libraries and archives, advertising, marketing, travel and tourism, foreign affairs, industry and commerce, academic research, the defence forces, intelligence analysis, law enforcement and the media.
The History Trust of SA is a Statutory Authority. The Trust
manages three museums and a Community History program as part
of its wide ranging responsibilities for ensuring the preservation
and interpretation of South Australia's rich and distinctive
history.
CURATORS IN HISTORY
The History Trust of SA is seeking applications for the position
of curator at each of : South Australian Maritime Museum,
Migration Museum and the National Motor Museum in Birdwood.
The curators will be responsible for the development, documentation,
management and interpretation of the Museums collections and
the research and curation component of their public programs.

Department of Veterans' Affairs: Graduate Recruitment Program
DVA recruits graduates throughout Australia. Most positions
are located in Canberra, however, there are a number of positions

Australian Graduate Survey
Graduate Careers Australia's (GCA) annual Australian Graduate Survey ( AGS ) is a study of the activities of new higher education graduates around four months after the completion of their qualifications. New graduates are surveyed regarding their major activities, including full-time study, full- or part-time employment, seeking employment or their unavailability for work or study.
2007 Graduates at a glance:
- Of bachelor degree graduates who were available for full-time employment in 2007; 95 per cent were employed within four months of completing their degrees
- One-fifth of respondents (20.0 per cent), were undertaking further full-time study after completing their bachelor qualifications
- The typical (median) annual starting salary for new Australian resident bachelor degree graduates aged less than 25 and in their first full-time employment in Australia was $43,000
