    Where can our graduates go?

This course will equip you to seek employment in a range of public and private sector organisations which demand a combination of legal, philosophical and social sciences skills and a knowledge of the relationships between justice, law and society. This includes the court system, justice administration, equal opportunity and other public sector jobs, as well as positions in law firms, trade unions, workers' compensation, community organisations, and private industry.

    General areas of employment

Bachelor of Justice and Society, Intake/Volunteer Coordinator at Community Mediation Service

My role involves developing, reviewing and evaluating the new intake system and putting the operational procedures into practice. I am responsible for communicating with clients regarding neighbourhood conflicts, offering mediation as an alternative dispute resolution mechanism and providing appropriate referral. My position also extends to coordinating several volunteers within this service. In addition, I am developing a Volunteer Management System specifically for the Community Mediation Service. … I attended several of the University Careers Centre Workplace seminars, which gave me motivation to begin researching specific employment positions and areas of interest. I compiled a research reference folder that has been invaluable. Volunteering was an important choice I made, primarily driven by my need to gain professional experience and general workplace skills, with the knowledge that such a commitment appeals to many prospective employers.
