A specialised Paramedic stream is offered within the Bachelor of Health Sciences as a conversion course for people with existing paramedic qualifications and as a direct-entry program for anyone seeking a career as an paramedic officer, including school leavers.
Where can our graduates go?
Public and private ambulance services in Australia, rural and remote settings (such as mining operations, oil rigs), other emergency health settings (ie community, industrial etc).

Paramedic Internship , SA Ambulance Service
SA Ambulance Service is inviting applications from suitably qualified university graduates for Paramedic Intern positions at metropolitan and country stations. If successful you will commence a 12-month performance based internship as part of paid employment on a fixed-term contract. To be eligible you must have completed (or be expected to successfully complete prior to intake dates) all the requirements to receive the award of Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic) from Flinders University or an equivalent SAAS-recognised ambulance qualification from another University.
Applications must include:

- separate paragraphs demonstrating your ability to meet each selection criteria contained in the persons specifications (job description available on our website)

Graduate Careers Australia's (GCA) annual Australian Graduate Survey ( AGS ) is a study of the activities of new higher education graduates around four months after the completion of their qualifications. New graduates are surveyed regarding their major activities, including full-time study, full or part-time employment, seeking employment or their unavailability for work or study.
2007 Graduates at a glance:
- Of bachelor degree graduates who were available for full-time employment in 2007; 95 per cent were employed within four months of completing their degrees
- One-fifth of respondents (20.0 per cent), were undertaking further full-time study after completing their bachelor qualifications
- The typical (median) annual starting salary for new Australian resident bachelor degree graduates aged less than 25 and in their first full-time employment in Australia was $43,000
