With continued healthy growth forecast, they are seeking a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer to join their operation at their inner city Brisbane plant.

  Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, your primary duties will be 1. Gain a broad understanding of the glass manufacturing process and assist unit managers in achieving plant objectives and 2. Gain specific knowledge in Forming Process, Batch and Furnace operation, Inspection, Packaging and Line Management.

  Some of your accountabilities will include:

•  Complete each phase of the graduate placement program.
•  Contribute to plant improvement activities and Lean Six Sigma projects
•  Develop competency in the fundamentals of Glass testing and analysis, Batch house operations and Furnace operations and maintenance.
•  Contribute to Plant Communication processes by attending and leading Team Briefs,
•  Toolbox Talks and other communication forums.

To be considered for this exciting position you will be a degree-qualified engineer, ideally in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, process or materials discipline. You will be recently graduated or have one to two years experience in manufacturing. This role is very hands on with heavy involvement on the production floor so a previous trade background will be highly regarded but certainly not necessary.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing assistance to the group's Engineers in the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of hoisting machineries used in the theatre industry. You will be given opportunity to apply your theoretical trainings in the designs of both machinery and control systems, oversee site installation and commissioning during the construction stage.

Occasional site travels may be required.

Applicants should have, or under training for, either a degree or diploma in mechatronic / control engineering. You must have good analytical and problem solving skill, evidenced by high level academic achievements, a demonstrated ability to handle multitasks. Good documentation and communication skills will also be well regarded for this role.
