My Flinders Experience

Flinders environmental health practice graduate and environmental health officer at Knox City Council (Victoria)

Giuliano wanted to positively contribute to public health and the environment. He discovered that Flinders University’s environmental health practice course would allow him to work in this capacity.

“All the staff were very professional, and the lecturers were highly competent in facilitating our learning throughout the course.”

Giuliano enjoyed his interactions with lecturers and fellow students to share important insights and reflections on environmental health issues.

He was pleased to gather practical experience and found opportunities for work placements. Flinders provided Giuliano with essential support from WorkReady to allow him to volunteer in a program in Victoria.

On graduation, Giuliano successfully applied for a job as an environmental health officer in the same council at which he was working as a volunteer.

“Theoretical models learnt during my studies at Flinders provided me with the confidence to conduct my activities, administering and enforcing a number of pieces of legislation as an environmental health officer.”
