Site and Volume Licensed Software

Sophos MailMonitor is a software application that monitors the incoming mail feeds to the University and actively scans for viruses, worms, trojans, etc. Infected email is blocked from entry to the campus.

Licence Type

This is a site licence running for five years beginning on 1 June 2002. The maximum number of end user computers protected by this licence is 3500. During the term of the licence the University is entitled to all new versions and minor upgrades at no additional charge.

Licence Costs

There is no cost to the indiviual user; the cost is met from a central budget.

Hardware

SMTP for Solaris, NT/2000, Linux and Exchange are supported.

Workplace Use

Available for installation on email servers owned by the University.

Availability

The software is availble through the Server Support group in the Information Services Division.
