Computing

Flinders offers comprehensive programs designed to equip graduates for careers in computing, communications and information technology. Formal computer skills also can be studied alongside other subjects in a BA or BSc, and individual topics can be incorporated in a number of degrees.

Undergraduate options

Applied Geographical Information Systems: A degree offering comprehensive training in GIS, reinforced with necessary skills in remote sensing, statistics and computing, as well as the opportunity to study a major sequence in the area most relevant to the student's future career.

Software Engineering: Flinders offers a specialised degree Software Engineering.

Computer Science: Flinders offers Computer Science as a graduate-entry degree, a specialisation within a Bachelor of Science or a major sequence in a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology), Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or a Bachelor of Business.

Computer Studies: Offered as a major sequence within a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Commerce.

Computer Science (Health Industry): The computer science stream within the Bachelor of Health Sciences prepares graduates for specialist computer careers in the health industry.

Information Technology: A specialist degree that provides professional training in all areas associated with the analysis, design, implementation, integration, maintenance and management of systems involving IT.

Postgraduate options

Flinders has developed a comprehensive, articulated postgraduate program in Information Technology (Computing), incorporating a Graduate Certificate, a Graduate Diploma and a Masters degree.
