Master of Arts (Applied Social and Market Research) (36 units)

Offered by the Department of Sociology, this program provides a focused training in the skills of applied social research. It is suitable both for people already working in areas where some social research is required who wish to upgrade their skills, as well as for those who wish to move into this area.

Coursework covers the design and fielding of social surveys and the analysis of survey results, evaluation research, and the design and execution of social research in applied settings. A short thesis provides an opportunity to use the skills gained through coursework to complete a piece of research.
