Overview

This articulated program provides a strong foundation in appropriate business knowledge, understanding, skills and attitude for successful careers as managers of organisations including private sector business organisations, not-for-profit organisations and public organisations.

It aims to:

  • develop student knowledge  and skills across the range of management areas relevant to decision making, including strategic management, financial management, human resource management and marketing management
  • provide students with relevant technical knowledge of accounting, finance and economics
  • provide students with a sound understanding and appreciation of the context in which organisations operate including the impact of broader economic and global business conditions and practices on the operations and viability of organisations.
The Master of Business Administration further develops students strategic thinking skills. It provides students with specialised knowledge in 1 of the following 6 areas of specialisation:
  1. Health
  2. Education
  3. Biotechnology
  4. International Business
  5. Finance
  6. Tourism

Entry requirements for GC Business Administration

applicants must hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

Entry requirements for GD Business Administration

applicants must hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution. Applicants who have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration may also gain entry into the course.

Entry requirements for MBA

For all MBA's except Health, Education and Biotechnology - applicants must hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and two years’ relevant work experience.

For MBA (Biotechnology) - applicants must hold a degree in biological, agricultural or medical science, or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and have two years’ relevant work experience.

For MBA (Education) - applicants must hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in an education field from an approved tertiary institution and two years’ relevant work experience.

For MBA (Health) - applicants must hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and four years’ professional experience in the health sector.

For MBA (Adv)(Biotechnology) - applicants must hold a degree in biological, agricultural or medical science, or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

For MBA (Adv)(Education) - applicants must hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in an education field from an approved tertiary institution.

For MBA (Adv)(Health) - applicants must hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and have at least four years professional experience in the health sector, preferably with at least one year at management level.
