The Flinders University Educational Leadership and Management program is especially suitable for current and future human resource managers, knowledge managers, school principals and departmental officers, policy developers, vocational education sector managers, and leaders of university academic and administration units. Our students come from all organisational sectors, with diverse qualifications and share a common focus on building capacity within their organisations.

Entry requirements

Applicants for the Graduate Certificate in Education (Leadership and Management) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.

Applicants for the Master of Education (Leadership and Management) will qualify for either a basic or a progressive entry level. Applicants who hold an approved bachelor degree in any discipline are eligible for the basic entry level, and will complete up to 72 units of study. Applicants who hold a bachelor degree in education, teaching or a closely related discipline are eligible for the progressive entry level, and will complete up to 54 units of study.

In addition, applicants must have at least two years’ relevant work experience within an organisation.

The Faculty Board may under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.

Credit may be granted, on application, for: prior study completed in a relevant Honours, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters degree; accredited professional development; or relevant work experience.
