Overview

These courses allow university graduates to take a language they have not previously studied at university level. They are designed to provide competence in French, Spanish, Italian, Modern Greek or Indonesian and thus add greater portability to a graduate's qualifications. At the same time, they increase cross-cultural understanding and provide the academic rigour of formal language study.

By adding linguistic expertise or strengthening skills already gained in a language other than English, graduates increase their ability to understand and interact with another culture. In addition graduates' ability to communicate the skills and knowledge acquired from their previous university studies is greatly enhanced.
