Overview
Flinders offers three distinct Masters programs in social work: the Master of Social Work which is a coursework degree and the Master of Arts (Social Work) which is a research degree. Different pathways are available depending on your prior educational experience.
Graduates are eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
The Master of Social Work (Advanced) is designed to meet the diverse educational needs of qualified and experienced social workers who have a recognised Bachelor or Master of Social Work degree.

Entry requirements

Applicants for the Masters degree must normally hold a recognised bachelor degree or equivalent. Applicants who have completed a bachelor degree in an area other than social work normally require a credit average for admission. Applicants for the Master of Social Work (Advanced) must have (1) successfully completed an AASW approved social work qualifying course, for example, either a Bachelor of Social Work or a qualifying programme such as the 2 year Master of Social Work, or equivalent qualification and (2) have completed a minimum of two years full-time or equivalent, post-qualification professional practice in social work. | Applicants for the Masters degree must normally hold a recognised bachelor degree or equivalent.
