This articulated program provides opportunities for health professionals from any field to enhance their knowledge, skills and attitudes in clinical rehabilitation. Students gain an understanding of the relevant principles and practice then tailor their study to an area relevant to their workplace or field of interest.

Graduate Certificate students undertake the core topic Principles and Practice of Clinical Rehabilitation and are then able to select a general studies option or a specialty stream in either pulmonary, neurological or psychosocial aspects of clinical rehabilitation.

The Graduate Diploma program includes the same core topic as the Graduate Certificate and a choice of elective topics which may include: Rehabilitation of Traumatic Brain Injury and Related Conditions; Psychosocial Aspects of Clinical Rehabilitation; Counselling and Education in Clinical Rehabilitation; Rehabilitation Following Stroke; Rehabilitation of Degenerative Neurological Disorders; and Rehabilitation of Musculoskeletal Disorders and Injuries.

The Masters program offers two pathways:
18 units of coursework and a 36-unit research thesis; or
42 units of coursework and a 12-unit research project.

Clinical Rehabilitation - Singapore program

The Department of Rehabilitation and Aged Care is offering Clinical Rehabilitation courses in Singapore in collaboration with Singapore General Hospital Postgraduate Allied Health Institute (PGAHI).

Postgraduate Allied Health Institute (PGAHI)
Established in 2003, the SGH-Postgraduate Allied Health Institute (PGAHI) is the first postgraduate allied health institute set up by a hospital in Singapore. PGAHI taps on the wealth of clinical expertise of SGH and its reputable partners, as well as leverages on strategic collaborations with renowned overseas universities to provide sought-after training. To date it has offered more than 1,500 training places in over 100 different allied health professional development courses and clinical attachment programmes.
PGAHI's mission is to deliver innovative and quality advanced and clinical skills training for allied health professionals to enhance the standard of patient care and reputation of SGH as a leading medical institution.

Course outline
3-4 topics per year via 4-day intensives will be taught by Flinders University staff with online tutorial support available at all times. Research projects will also have a local tutor.

The course is for all health practitioners, including allied health and nursing, seeking to improve their knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of clinical rehabilitation.

Students can choose from a range of topics relevant to their workplace or area of interest. Topics use case scenarios supported with a selection of up-to-date readings.

Entry requirements
Applicants for the Graduate Certificate must hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants for the Graduate Diploma or Masters also must have at least two years' relevant postgraduate experience.

Students who have completed the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma (or other qualifications deemed equivalent) receive credit for related topics when progressing to the Graduate Diploma or Masters.

  2. Link via the GradStart button. Click on 'Want to Apply?' to begin your application.
  3. Submit your application. You will be sent a confirmation email.
You can apply for admission at any time during the year and GradStart applications are free.

If you receive any correspondence from SATAC requesting further information you will need to supply what is requested. Your application cannot be processed until all requested information is received. Note: you must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia to apply through GradStart.

Australian citizens, and those holding an Australian permanent humanitarian visa who meet eligibility criteria, are eligible to defer their fees through the Higher Education Loan Program (FEE-HELP). Contact Student Finance Services on (08) 8201 3143 for details.
