Course overview

The Bachelor of General Studies provides students with flexible study options and access to a diverse range of topics that teach a wide-range of knowledge and skills.

The course aims to provide you with:

  • a sound basis of knowledge in your chosen area(s) of study
  • the ability to communicate effectively in a range of ways
  • the skills to connect across geographical, disciplinary, social and cultural boundaries
  • the ability to understand the value of ethical behaviour.

You may also use the first year of the course as a pathway into another Bachelor degree at the University.

If you achieve the required grade point average in the first year full-time study, or equivalent part-time, you will be guaranteed entry into one of the following Bachelor degrees at Flinders University:

If you do not meet the criteria for guaranteed entry you may apply for entry into a Flinders degree via the normal competitive admission process.

Domestic students: You can qualify for undergraduate courses through: year 12 qualifications, adult entry (STAT/Bridging Program), TAFE/VET qualification, higher education transfers. Flinders also offers a range of special access schemes. Refer to undergraduate study applications.
