Flinders' network and cybersecurity systems awards have been designed with modern electronic communication in mind - from the latest technology such as optic fibre technology and cloud computing through to the latest in social networking and the use of social media in business.
This includes knowledge of computer security, communications technology and its administration, network engineering, enterprise systems, and social and information networks.
The course prepares you to not only understand why electronic communication operates (and in some cases why not), but also teaches you how to design systems that maximise the safe and secure use of networks.
A three year Bachelor of Information Technology (Network and Cybersecurity Systems) is also available.

What is Information Technology (Network and Cybersecurity Systems)?
Network systems is a broad area covering the technology of designing and implementing local and internet-scale communication systems, as well as the use of that technology in social networks and business systems.
Networked systems include:
- the physical, exemplified by the NBN and by the prevalence of mobile devices
- the strategic, as shown by the rise of cloud computing and server and data storage farms
- the social, including social networking
- the organisational, including new business models for work that relies on networked systems, including e-research and enterprise systems.
Significantly, the importance of the network as central to the computing task is growing rapidly.

The Bachelor of Letters is available to all students studying a degree at Flinders and is available in languages, English, creative writing, innovation and enterprise, and sports performance coaching. It enables you to follow your interests and aspirations and enhance your career prospects by undertaking a second area of study in addition to your primary degree. You will graduate with two qualifications, expanding your employment opportunities.
Prerequisites: SACE Stage 2 Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Mathematical Studies or equivalent is assumed.
