The Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences will give you a firm foundation in principals and techniques of modern mathematics but also how mathematics is applied and is used to solve today's problems.
You will have the opportunity to complete topics in other disciplines that use this applied mathematics, such as medicine (in epidemiology), business (in economics), physics (mathematical physics) and the environment (such as groundwater modelling).
Mathematics topics cover areas such as principles of analysis, calculus, partial differential equations, statistics, algebra, probability, computer mathematics, numerical analysis and statistical science.

Combine with the Bachelor of Letters
The Bachelor of Letters is available to all students studying a degree at Flinders and is available in languages, English, creative writing, innovation and enterprise, and sports performance coaching. It enables you to follow your interests and aspirations and enhance your career prospects by undertaking a second area of study in addition to your primary degree. You will graduate with two qualifications, expanding your employment opportunities.
SACE Stage 2 Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods or equivalent.
* Mathematical Methods (2MHS20) from 2017, or Mathematical Studies (2MDS20) if studied in 2016 or prior.
International students are expected to have completed senior secondary mathematical methods/mathematical studies or equivalent.
Domestic students: You can qualify for undergraduate courses through: year 12 qualifications, adult entry (STAT/Bridging Program), TAFE/VET qualification, higher education transfers. Flinders also offers a range of special access schemes. Refer to undergraduate study applications.
