English language requirements

• must make a self-declaration as to their fitness to practice and advise of any pre-existing illness or disability that may impair their ability to practice, and
  
• will be required to undergo a police check before their clinical placements, and
  
• will be required to provide an up to date immunization record before undertaking clinical placement.'If you are enrolled in an approved program of study in 2011 you do not need to apply for registration as a student. Education providers will pass on your details directly to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia for registration. No fees are required.
  

Under the terms of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (South Australia) Act 2010, as a nursing and midwifery student enrolled in a course that provides a qualification for registration you are required (as a condition of your enrolment at the University) to register as a student with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia for the duration of your nursing/midwifery studies.

The registration process requires you to provide personal details to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of  Australia such as your health status and any criminal convictions.

Please note these policies may be subject to change during the period of a student’s study in a course and students are required to meet NMBA requirements in place at the time of application for registration as a Registered Nurse.
