Course overview

The Bachelor of Tourism Management is designed to equip you with the vocational and academic knowledge and skills that you need to work in the versatile travel and tourism industries.

The Bachelor of Tourism Management offers a strong business and management component together with vocational content such as selling tourism products and services, customer service, travel reservations, and providing advice on travel destinations.

It will combine the academic analysis of trends in worldwide tourism with local, regional, national and international aspects of tourism. The combination of vocational and academic skills and knowledge provides you with a wide range of employment opportunities in the travel and tourism industries.

Delivered in partnership with TAFE SA, students will enrol concurrently at Flinders University and TAFE SA. Students will graduate with a TAFE SA Certificate III in Tourism (SIT30112), Diploma of Travel and Tourism (SIT50112), Advanced Diploma of Travel and Tourism (SIT60112), and Flinders’ Bachelor of Tourism Management.

It combines the practical elements of TAFE SA’s Advanced Diploma of Travel and Tourism together with Flinders’ strengths in tourism research, culture and an understanding of the issues affecting the global tourism industry.
