Why study Information Systems? 

Information systems focuses on organisational information problems and the manner in which those problems, that will likely include computers, can be solved.

As such, the study of information systems is essential to any organisation operating in the modern economy. Information systems professionals can be distinguished from computer scientists by the extent to which the focus is either the information problems itself or the computer as a tool.
