During the Graduation Ceremony
| The graduation ceremony commences with the entrance of the academic procession. All stand. At the conclusion of the Australian National Anthem you may be seated. After an opening address, the first row of graduands will be signalled to stand and move to the aisle, and led down towards the stage. Each row will then be signalled to follow. Shortly before your name is called you will be prompted to walk up to the edge of the stage. You will proceed to centre stage once your name is called, where you will doff your mortarboard before being presented to the Officiating Officer, who will shake your hand. (If for cultural reasons you would prefer not to shake hands, please indicate this on your graduation application form). You will be handed your parchment and will then proceed to walk across the stage and down the steps where you will be guided back to your seat. |
