You will receive a confirmation email of your participation approximately 7-14 days prior to the ceremony. Within this confirmation email, there will be information about academic dress hire collection dates and locations, designated meeting time and location prior to the ceremony, and the order of proceedings for the ceremony.
Academic Dress for Staff partcipating in the Academic Procession
If you wish to participate in the Academic Procession, the Graduation Office can assist with academic dress if you do not have your own. The University can lend gowns, mortarboards and hoods in specific degree colours (subject to availability) to all graduates of Flinders University, free of charge.
Please note, academic dress for postgraduate degrees, particularly doctorates, is limited and students will be given preference for hire, therefore we cannot guarantee availability of these. We can offer a plain black gown and mortarboard if your degree colours are unavailable, or if you are a graduate from another University.
Those wishing to wear degree colours from another University will be required to contact their home University to arrange for hire or purchase.
Academic dress must be collected from and returned to the university. You may wish to bring a bag or coat hanger. If you are unable to collect academic dress yourself, please send a colleague to do so on your behalf. Dates, times and location will be advised in your confirmation email, approximately 7 days prior to your selected ceremony.
Purchase: Academic dress may be purchased from:
• The Regalia Shop, 43/81 Carrington Street, Adelaide. Phone: 8232 2955
For further information, please see Academic Dress.
