Advice to Staff
The Flinders University Health Service wishes to remind all Flinders staff that the Health Service is primarily for current students. There is a very high demand for our bulk billing services which ill students need good access to. Staff are encouraged to also have their own general practitioner outside of the University and staff who leave the University are no longer eligible to access the Health Service. If a staff member wishes to have their University health record or a health summary transferred to an outside practitioner, this should be discussed with your University doctor.
The nurse is available each day between the hours of 9am - 12.30pm and 1.30pm - 4pm.
OSHC on Campus
A representative from Allianz Global Assist is on campus every Wednesday from 10am to 4pm and Friday from 10am to 4pm. If you have any issues or questions about your insurance cover, you can find the office on the Food Plaza Level, inside the Student Assist and Employment Office (next to Subway).
Other on-campus services
A massage therapist is available by appointment in the Health Service on Fridays. The massage therapist is a registered provider with most health funds.
*Please note: we require 24 hours notice for a cancellation*
Appointments with a pshysiotherapist are available at Marion Physiotherapy, 858 Marion Road, Marion. Student discounts are available. Phone 8296 7594.
Non rebatable Medicals
There are occasions when students or staff require a medical examination in relation to their employment or other activity (eg taxi driving, aviation, diving etc). These medicals do not attract a Medical Benefits Scheme payment. As a result, any patient seeking such a Medical from the University Health Service will need to book a double appointment and the doctor will issue a private patient invoice of $100. This invoice must be paid at Reception following the appointment.
