Self-help information

The Health and Counselling Service has pamphlets and web-based information on the following topics that can provide a useful starting point for dealing with issues.

We also suggest checking out the useful links page.

For advice on adjusting to university life, or if you are thinking of dropping out, go to the special Get Connected site.

Please note that these services are not meant to replace a face-to-face diagnosis and/or consultation with a professional counsellor or doctor. Urgent or complicated problems need to be addressed face-to-face.

Online self help modules

The following online self-paced learning modules may be useful. Each module includes information, worksheets, and suggested exercises or activities. These self help modules have been provided with permission from the Centre for Clinical Interventions, Western Australia.

  • Keeping Your Balance Coping with Bipolar Disorder: This is designed to provide you with some information about bipolar disorder and suggested strategies for how you can manage your mood.
  • Shy No Longer Coping with Social Anxiety: This is designed to provide you with some information about social anxiety and suggested strategies for how you can manage your anxiety in social situations.
