Multiple choice questions (15%)
Will comprise multiple choice questions based on specified chapters from the set textbook (Reynolds 1997).  The aim of this assignment is to provide students with some preliminary information about the geophysical techniques that will be covered during the intensive workshop, so that the amount of reading required during the teaching block is manageable.  Students will be provided with the list of chapter readings and questions one month prior to commencing the topic.

Participation (10%)
The ability to engage with peers and colleagues on issues of archaeological significance is an important skill that must be learned and practiced and this component of the assessment encourages and rewards students for making that effort.  This mark will be awarded by the lecturing staff on the basis of contributions to class discussions (both active and passive) and engagement with the topic material during the eight day teaching period.
