Archaeology's research strategy is focussed on four core thematic areas that tap into the benefits of co-operative, collaborative and community-engaged research.
Under the overall banner of Humans Through Time and Space, our thematic areas encompass:
Coastal and Maritime Adaptations
Colonialism, Capitalism and Cosmopolitanism
Environment and Society
Many of the projects within these themes are carried out at the request of local communities, and their goals and outputs are used to strengthen people's attachment to place, identity and heritage. A strong blend of pure and applied research characterises archaeological research at Flinders, as does ongoing engagement with government, industry and community.
