Child Related Employment Screening (DCSI Clearance)

All pre-service teachers from the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work must obtain a Child-Related Employment Screening (formerly called a National Criminal History Check) before undertaking their Professional Experience. This is a requirement of the Department for Education and Child Development (DECD), in agreement with the Catholic Education and Independent Schools Boards.

Your screening letter is valid for three years from the date of issue. If you obtain your screening letter in Semester 2 of your first year, and are a full time student, you will not need to reapply during your degree.

CRES (DCSI Clearance) On-Line Applications

From 1st December 2016 all clearance requests must be submitted using the on-line system. During your 1st year of study in the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work your details (name, date of birth and university email address) will be submitted to the Screening Unit. You will receive an automated email from the screening unit at that time. Please follow the prompts in this email and submit your on-line application. If you have not received the email please make contact with your Placement Officer. You will find contact details under the Staff Contacts tab.

This information will be clarified with you during your Professional Experience lecture series in Semester 2 (undergraduates), or Semester 1 (Master of Teaching).
