The Multilingual and Global Engagement Association for Languages Education Research Group (Magenta Fler) comprises staff, postgraduate students and teachers interested in issues involved in language learning and language teaching.
The research interests of the staff range from the examination of migrant, cultural and linguacultural issues and the lived experiences of minority groups as they influence identity, acculturation and social justice, to studies of students' strategies for vocabulary acquisition. Members of the group also have an interest in:
- prospective teachers’ dispositions towards teaching and their attitudes to bilingualism and bilingual education,
- the use of imagery in second language learning,
- the use of critical pedagogy for language learning,
- the keyword method for vocabulary acquisition.
Magenta Fler is led by Dr Marietta Rossetto.
