Curating Affective Technologies - Call for Participation

Please find attached the Call for Participation for the forthcoming mid-year ‘un-conference’ to be hosted by FIRtH on Thursday, 21 and Friday, 22 July.

We invite abstracts of 150 words by 10 June but are also in the process of putting together a proposal for a special edition of Media International Australia (MIA). We would very much like to include some thumbnail descriptions of articles and are hoping that 4-6 will be forthcoming from our Flinders cohort. To this end it would be EXCELLENT if you could come up with a paper title and brief 25 word (or thereabouts) description IN ANTICIPATION of your abstract.

We’d like these small insights (and you won’t necessarily be held ransom to them) by Friday, 3 June. We are holding ourselves to the same tight deadlines.

Shut Up and Write... then 'Chit Chat' / No 2

Please join us for our second Technologies of Memory and Affect Writing Lock-in and “Pecha Kucha”

Thursday, 7 July
1 - 5pm
Studio 1 & 2 (behind Grind & Press Cafe, Flinders University)

Plan what you wish to spend 3 hours writing on. Make it something special, something you’ve really wanted to get to but haven’t yet had the time... At 4pm we’ll celebrate with nibbles and drinks and four experimental Pecha Kuchas from our peers.

Pecha Kucha is a simple presentation format where presenters share 20 images, for 20 seconds each. For tips on presenting in this format visit technologiesofmemoryandaffect.weebly.com

You are welcome to come to either the Writing Lock-in or Pecha Kuchas. Rememer to bring your laptop!
