Language programs of study are offered at all levels of the university curriculum to cater for a variety of students' needs, aspirations and interests. They may be taken as part of a Bachelor degree (e.g. Bachelor of Languages, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of International Relations, Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Business, etc.) or as part of the Bachelor of Letters, alongside a Flinders degree.
Language programs of study are also available as part of our graduate courses (see list below).
Opportunities for postgraduate research in Applied Linguistics and Cultural Studies are also available through MA and PhD programs.
Flinders staff offer some of the above languages also at the University of Adelaide and at the University of South Australia as part of our Outreach Program.
Languages, Applied Linguistics and TESOL staff are also active in a wide range of research areas.
The quality and reputation of our language programs in was recognised in 2007 when the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in higher Education awarded the Department of Language and Applied Linguistics a citation for outstanding contribution to student learning.
