Lunchtime Music Concerts

 

With the generous support of Flinders University, the Flinders Music Advisory Committee is able to provide a series of lunchtime concerts during the academic year.

The performances cover many styles and genres, including jazz, folk, classical, pop and contemporary and provide an intimate setting in which to engage with the music.

Next concert, 26 April 2017

  Ben Dollman and Monica Schmidt Andersen

Adelaide violinist Ben Dollman and Danish recorder player Monica Schmidt Andersen will present a concert encompassing folk tunes and baroque music from Europe, including the Danish, Breton and Celtic traditions.

There will be the music of Baroque era composer Georg Philipp Telemann, along with new pieces by Danish and Australian composers inspired by these influences. The duo, who perform as Dual Aura, are well known for providing an entertaining and stimulating musical journey.

Davide Monti is a violinist who combines his infectious energy with an exceptional talent of being a completely natural performer. A much sought after director, soloist, concertmaster and chamber musician his playing has been described as “phenomenal”, with “incredible freshness”, where “all appears extraordinarily spontaneous and organic”. His prize-winning recordings include his version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons which has been reviewed as “definitely one of the best versions of the decade”.
