Study abroad and Exchange Programs
Flinders University has established a number of exchange programs with tertiary institutions around the world to enable Australian students to experience study and life in other cultures.
Flinders University students can now choose to study for one or two semesters in a number of world-class universities in France, Canada, Italy, Spain and South America.
These reciprocal agreements enable students to obtain full credits for topics studied overseas while they remain Flinders students. There are no tuition fees above HECS for the exchange program. Furthermore eligibility for Youth Allowance continues for the period of the exchange. To assist students applying for an exchange, the University also offers a number of $1000 scholarships each year.
Students who are presently in their second year of language studies are encouraged to apply for a semester abroad exchange in the following year.

Italian
Flinders University has formal exchange programs with the following institutions:
• Università degli studi di Bari, Bari
• Università di Roma, La Sapienza, Rome
• Roma Tre University, Rome
All Italian students (including Adelaide University students enrolled at Flinders for cross-institutional studies) have access to the above programs. Further information is available from the Flinders Abroad page.
Adelaide University students can also apply for exchange through their home institution. Adelaide University has reciprocal exchange programs with:
• Università di Bologna
• Università Bocconi (Milan) – only for Commerce, Economics and Law students
• Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore
For further information on these programs, please visit http://www.adelaide.edu.au/student/study_abroad/
Alternatively, students may organise their own program of study at a University of their choice in Italy, and apply for credit upon their return. However, such arrangements will require students to take full financial and organisational responsibility. This includes enrolment fees payable to the overseas institution as well as all travel and accommodation expenses. Students wishing to pursue this option are strongly encouraged to discuss their plans with Staff in Italian prior to enrolling in overseas courses.
Opportunities for scholarships covering either enrolment fees or travel expenses do arise from time to time, and are publicised through the Languages @ Flinders blog.
Spanish

To participate in these programs, students must have a working knowledge of Spanish (equivalent to at least four semesters of Spanish at university level).
