Our mission is to motivate and equip all our graduates to make a difference.
How do we do this?:
The mission of Flinders Law to 'make a difference' begins with our approach to legal education. It instils and reinforces critical understanding of the practical legal skills and enduring values that underpin good lawyering. It involves in particular a proactive commitment to the rule of law, ethical conduct, professional responsibility and community service. Both our Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice (LLB/LP) and new online Juris Doctor (JD) programs provide professionally accredited law courses that equip students to solve legal problems while also appreciating the operation of law in modern society. All of our law students are prepared to take on a range of legal work in modern society and, in the case of our LLB/LP, receive integrated professional training needed to be admitted to practise law as a solicitor or barrister. We also offer new undergraduate programs in Criminology (available to law and non-law students) and the Bachelor of Law & Society, law topics for Commerce students, an online Masters in International Law and International Relations (MILIR) and postgraduate research degrees.
