The Creative Research Fund is a short-term fund that aims to support research of a collaborative nature. Project proposals must have at least two outcomes: one creative arts outcome and one outcome in another form (scholarly/discursive, pedagogical, or community engagement). Applications to the Creative Research Fund for the 2014 round will open on Monday, 1 September 2014, and will close at 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 7 October 2014. Late applications will not be accepted.  Applications to the Creative Research Fund must be signed by the Dean of your School (or their delegate, where appropriate) before submission to the Faculty Office; if you intend to submit an application, please be sure to let your Dean (or their delegate) know, and to allow sufficient time for their perusal of it prior to the deadline. Completed applications, with all signatures in place, should be forwarded to the Research Coordinator, c/- EHL Faculty Office.

Applicants to the Creative Research Fund must be employed at 0.4 FTE or above as an academic member of staff in one of the following departments in the School of Humanities and Creative Arts:
•    Drama;
•    ECWAS (Creative Writing staff only);
•    Screen and Media.

Staff from other departments in the School of Humanities and Creative Arts, and from other EHL Schools, may be involved in the proposed collaborative research project, but they may not themselves apply to the Creative Research Fund.

Funding level:
Applicants are invited to submit project proposals with budgets of between $2000.00 and $10,000.00. The maximum allocation that may be granted per project will normally be $10,000.00.

Funding awarded from the 2014 Creative Research Fund will be allocated for expenditure any time from the receipt of the formal memo giving the account details until Friday, 13 November 2015. No extension of this time frame will be possible.

Accountability and Reporting:

Recipients of project funding from the Creative Research Fund will be held accountable for the outcomes listed in their application. A progress report is expected twelve months after the commencement of funding, by which time it is expected that at least one of the project outcomes should have been produced. A final report on the expenditure and outcomes of funding awarded will be due within six weeks of all project outcomes being produced/submitted.
